There are 10 sites for a possible lesion, and at its core, 4 ways to define onset.

1. Cortical

2. Subcortical

3. Brain stem and cerebellum

4. Spinal cord

5. Anterior horn cells

6. Nerve roots

7. Nerve plexuses

8. Peripheral nerves

9. Neuromuscular junctions

10. Muscle

4 ways to define onset

1. Acute

2. Chronic

3. Episodic

4. Progressive

And you can have a mixture of the above. 

But how do you localise to these 10 sites?
